EYELLUSION RAISES $2 MILLION TO EXPAND HOLOGRAM CONCERT BUSINESS

Investment from Thomas Dolan fuels growth of pioneering live music company with planned world tours including Frank Zappa and Ronnie James Dio.

Live music’s premier hologram production company Eyellusion, today announced it has raised $2 million of series seed funding from Thomas Dolan to expand its industry-leading work in the burgeoning hologram concert market. The company is in production for world tours featuring legendary deceased artists Frank Zappa and hard rock icon Ronnie James Dio, with additional projects that include A-list acts to be announced over coming months. Dolan currently serves on the boards of Madison Square Garden and AMC Networks, and will serve in an ongoing advisory role for Eyellusion.

“The Eyellusion team is incredibly talented, bringing a combination of unique skillsets and experience across music, touring and digital effects,” said Dolan. “I have been evaluating opportunities in this space for some time and believe Eyellusion has the best expertise and production chops for successful pursuit of this growing opportunity. I can’t wait for the team to share the new shows they’re creating with live music fans everywhere, making history along the way.”

In December 2017, Eyellusion wrapped the first leg of its “DIO Returns” tour, playing ten dates in seven countries over 18 days, with thousands of fans of all ages coming out to the shows. After this successful run, the company is expanding the production to add more songs to the performance and expand the stage and light show. It will return for a full world tour starting early 2019.

Eyellusion is also in production on the highly-anticipated “Bizarre World of Frank Zappa” tour that is based, in part, on never-before-seen performance footage from the early seventies, with longtime and legendary Zappa players performing live on stage. This production is also set to begin touring in early 2019.

“When Eyellusion was founded in 2015, we had a vision for how holograms could deliver a completely new live music experience while preserving the legacies of music’s most important and impactful artists,” said Jeff Pezzuti, CEO of Eyellusion. “It has been an amazing journey and as we sign new artists for productions, this funding ensures our ability to continue executing and delivering on our vision of bringing fans the shows of their dreams.”

Eyellusion’s holograms and live productions are supported by a team of live music and special effects veterans, including Ahmet Zappa, EVP of business development, Wendy Dio and veteran rock manager Todd Singerman who leads industry relations, and Kenny Aronoff, world renowned drummer, who supports technical live production efforts. Chad Finnerty is Eyellusion’s creative director, working directly with clients to bring every project vision to the live stage. Legendary Hollywood digital effects executive Scott Ross advises Eyellusion on overall content creation for all productions.
