Ronnie James Dio hologram to play over 100 shows in 2019

Our friends over at Loudwire have the latest on plans for the 2019 DIO Returns tour kicking off in the US in spring. The Ronnie hologram is set to play more than 100 shows in 2019, back on the road with the DIO Band, Tim “Ripper” Owens and Oni Logan. Check the story below and link out to Loudwire for the rest. Also, we’ll have dates to announce VERY soon so stay tuned.

In August of 2016, a Ronnie James Dio hologram debuted at Wacken Open Air in Germany. It was the first hologram concert performance to feature a live band and the experience hit the road in Europe at the beginning of this year. In 2019, more Dio loyalists will have their chance to catch the unique event as over 100 concerts will be performed in the next year.

The company behind the hologram, Eyellusion, has signed with the Agency for the Performing Arts and will be represented by agency partner Steve Martin, reports Billboard, along with the news of the coming concerts.

Singers Tim “Ripper” Owens and Oni Logan (Lynch Mob) have been tapped for additional vocal support as the set will not feature the Ronnie hologram exclusively. Dio Disciples represent the backing band for the European hologram tour and the 16-song set features six songs with the visual projection of Ronnie.
