We dished on DIO hologram tour production with Talking Metal podcast!

talking_metalDetails about the 2017 DIO hologram tour are still under wraps, but production is underway! Mark Strigl at Talking Metal podcast was kind enough to spend some time with us in New York a couple weeks back to hear what we’ve been up to. We shared info for the first time about some of the songs that are planned for the 2017 tour and gave a behind-the-scenes look at the blood, sweat and tears that went into the first performance at Wacken.

Mark and his co-host Bill Wang had some very kind things to say about the hologram and the work we’re doing:

Mark: The DIO hologram hit earlier this year and I was really excited by this news. It’s not the real thing, it’s a hologram – but it’s a really great way to honor this man’s music and he’s got members of his actual band, Craig Goldy and Simon Wright, backing him up, playing there with the hologram. It’s his actual vocal you’re hearing I think it’s a great idea and I’m excited about what the future might hold, not just for the DIO hologram, but for holograms in general.

Bill Wang: I checked out the footage of the Wacken performance and I had goosebumps, I think it was fantastic. It’s bringing him to life for future generations and for generations that saw DIO live many times. I heard an interview with [Eyellusion CEO Jeff Pezzuti] and it sounded like hearts are in the right place, I was really pleased and I’m looking forward to the future. Not just for DIO, but other artists.
